There is just something so sweet and intimate about a winter wedding in Birmingham. Sarah Margaret and Dan shared a beautiful, traditional wedding day that was full of special details and gorgeous weather. Our bride hails from Georgia and attended Samford University, and our groom grew up in Mountain Brook and attended the University of Alabama. Their love story began in the sweetest way: Dan’s mom is the pastor at Baptist Church of the Covenant and introduced Dan to Sarah Margaret after getting to know her since she had joined their church. They hit it off and, as they say, the rest is history. Baptist Church of the Covenant will forever hold a special place in their lives as this is where Dan later proposed to Sarah Margaret. Swoon!

This wedding day was STUNNING. The weather was beautiful, bright, and sunny all day long, which we all know is unique for January. We love that this sweet couple hosted a party for their out of town family during the wedding day called a “Say Cheese” party. This gave the extended family an opportunity to be with each other and to celebrate all day long. Sarah Margaret and Dan wanted to honor tradition and therefore decided to forego a first look, which meant her walk down the aisle was filled with emotion.

During the ceremony, Sarah Margaret’s dad and Dan’s mom officiated the wedding – talk about a special moment! After a fun reception and Krispy Kreme donuts for a late night snack pass, the couple ended the night by leaving in a 1950’s Birmingham Fire Truck owned by a family friend. Guests were given white handkerchiefs, a New Orleans tradition, to wave as the couple drove off. It was truly picture perfect. We adore this sweet couple and their families.
